Are you a skilled communicator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure?

We’re seeking 2 dynamic, creative and experienced Corporate Communications Officers to join our Corporate Communications Team. You will be based in our Response and Investigation team where you will take the lead on our communications response to major and critical incidents, respond to media enquiries and provide expert advice to officers and staff to maximise media and communications opportunities.

The roles will see you work with Senior Investigating Officers providing communications advice and support to murder and major incident investigations, offering support to bereaved families and helping write tributes.

You will respond to media enquiries ranging from details about incidents to sensitive and complex matters, issue appeals for information to assist in criminal investigations as well as appeals to help find missing people and catch those wanted for the most serious of crimes.

In addition you will issue proactive communications to help increase public confidence as well as support officers and staff, including senior and chief officers, in their interactions with the media.

The roles are fast paced, varied and interesting. We need someone who can work quickly and remain calm under pressure while communicating effectively to a range of audiences. There is no doubt the roles can and will be challenging at times but the communications support you provide will play a crucial part in helping to keep our communities safe and protect people from harm.

Working hours will be between 8am to 5pm with a requirement to take part in our out of hours on call rota. If you would like to hear more about the role please contact us.

  • The Corporate Communications Officer (Response and Investigation) role is a hybrid role
  • 1x Full time and 1x part time position (part time hours 18.5 hours per week)
  • Permanent
