We are recruiting for a Mechanical Testing and Development Engineer for a global engineering group focused on the precise control and movement of fluids in critical applications.

The company's Engineering Division specialises in the design and manufacture of engineer to order highly specialised flow control valves.

Hours of Work:   37 hours per week. 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon to Thurs and 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday

Location:  Poole, Dorset, Office based. 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the role is responsible for supporting the Product Development strategy delivering profitable organic growth and continuous improvement. The role is part of the Engineering Department and involves working effectively with the Projects, Production and Quality Engineering teams and Manufacturing Department. The role incorporates a structured development process in which Engineering core skills will be applied and enhanced using "on the job learning" in relation to valve testing and development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Valve Development Testingunder the supervision and mentoring ofR&D Technicians,Design Engineers,and Engineering Manager.
  • Design qualification testparametersfor the validation of new products inaccordancewith project objectives and milestones.
  • Apply relevant engineering standards, legislation, certification,and customer complianceensuringcomprehensive validation and reporting is delivered.
  • Compile Test Reports as requiredfor documentingdesign validation complianceandmaintainingcomprehensive traceability.
  • Conduct concurrent engineering tasks optimising designs for Manufacturing Methodology, Assembly and Testing processes.
  • Develop testequipment capabilities andcontinuous improvement indata acquisition software / hardware and pressure / flow mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with the Maintenance of H&S documentation, SOPs, training matrix whilst supervising safe systems of work and authorised personnelequipment.
  • Develop owntechnical / valveproductknowledge through research, development and in coordinationwithTestequipmentandpressuresystem manufacturers.
