Mechanical Shift Engineer
Job Title: Shift Mechanical Fitter
Location: Sheffield
Shifts: 12 hour days and nights, 15's shift pattern
Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum
Metalis is one of our long-standing clients, with multiple investments and leaders within their field in heavy engineering. They are looking for a shift mechanical fitter to work as part of their multifunctional maintenance team on shifts.
Job Role:
- Carry out mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process work (planned / unplanned) occurring on the plant.
- Attend breakdowns and respond to 1st line maintenance requirements, performing hands-on maintenance to deal with tasks effectively.
- Liasing with shift engineers to prioritise the workload and maximise plant availability.
- Assist and carry out PPM schedule when necessary.
- Creating appropriate engineering reports and providing sound justification.
- Comply with all health & safety regulations within a heavy engineering environment.
Job Requirements:
- Apprentice trained in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline or have proven mechanical experience in a heavy engineering environment.
- Demonstrate a good level of mechanical hands-on skills.
- Able to demonstrate good working knowledge of health & safety.
