Mobile Engineer required for ongoing, full-time work with a manufacturing company based in Bristol, BS30. Only a basic mechanical background is required and full training will be provided.
  • £11.00 - £14.95 per hour PAYE, depending on experience
  • Monday – Friday, hours between 5am – 5pm
  • All travel time from minute you leave the site in Bristol until you get back is fully paid, so an average working week is around 60 hours
  • Overtime paid at x1.5 hourly rate after 10 hours worked per day
  • Site is accessible by bus, Bristol-Bath cycle path or free parking on site
  • Frequent overnight stays required as part of the role (accommodation, evening meal paid and £75 inconvenience bonus per night)

An 8am start on site is expected as standard – if travel time to the customer site is 2 hours or less, you would complete your duties and return on the same day. If travel time to the customer site is more than 2 hours, you will stay overnight near the customer site

About the job
  • Delivery of goods to customer sites
  • Working in team of 2 (or more) to install or deinstall machinery  
  • Maintaining/servicing and commissioning mechanical systems
  • Problem solving, and using own initiative to resolve queries with customers direct
  • Completing relevant paperwork

The right candidate
  • Full UK manual driving license
  • Willingness and regular availability for work-away for jobs all over the UK, and occasional overseas travel, night work, weekend work and/or double shifts
  • Confident practical and mechanical skills with ability to use power tools
  • Good communication skills
