Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a bespoke manufacturing company looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their facility in Sheffield with immediate effect.

• Salary - £36,000 
• Days, afters, nights rotating – with an early finish on Friday on the days shift, and Mon-Thurs only for afters and night shift
• Holidays are 27 days

Supporting the Mechanical Team Leader & Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maximising efficiency, minimise unplanned stoppages, and ensuring a safe working environment

Other responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer include; 

• Carry out work orders by the Planned Preventative Maintenance system
• Undertake diagnostic checks in machinery breakdown situations 
• Identify any spare part requirements, and initiate their procurement through the requisition process, providing technical specifications and manufacturer/supplier details
• Undertake safety improvement work raised by the Hazard Risk reporting procedure. Strive to eliminate risk through plant improvement and better working practices.
• Diagnosing breakdown problems 
• Install and commission to recognised standards any new or relocated equipment within the site
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of available equipment, particularly associated with the refractory industry
• Maintaining mechanical tools and equipment
• Assist in maintaining the quality control aspects of certification and production program schedules
• Interface with and support other departments in developing continual improvement

We are keen to speak with Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with the following:

• Mechanical Maintenance Qualification- NVQ Level 3/ City & Guilds as a minimum
• Time served experience within a manufacturing environment
• Team player attitude
• Experience in the use of a planned preventive maintenance system
• Ideally have worked within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment previously
