Location: Northamptonshire-

Salary: £39,100 per year plus overtime and daily bonus

Working Hours: Day shift

KAP are working with one of the main flour suppliers in the UK. They are currently looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a passion for problem-solving and equipment maintenance. If you're ready to join a dynamic team in Northamptonshire area, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Role Overview:

Your responsibilities will include servicing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse range of equipment, with a strong focus on problem-solving and fault analysis. You'll work with production machines, control systems, plant services, and various equipment types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repair tasks on production machines and their control systems.
  • Perform fault-finding and maintenance activities on PLC and computer control systems.
  • Maintain plant services and their associated control systems.
  • Utilize test and measurement equipment effectively.
  • Interpret and work with electrical drawings.
  • Execute scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks on process systems, safety systems, and electrical distribution.
  • Undertake small projects from conceptualization through to design, construction, installation, and commissioning.
  • Design simple electrical control systems, including producing drawings, ordering parts, constructing, installing, and commissioning.
  • Utilize your expertise in PLC systems and software, particularly Mitsubishi or Siemens logic (if applicable).
  • Bring an advantage of being multi-skilled, with a bias towards electrical expertise and knowledge in mechanical and pneumatics.
  • Possess inspection and testing qualifications.
  • Leverage experience with food industry plant machinery (if applicable).

Qualifications and Experience:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Proficiency in servicing and repairing a wide range of equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and control software, especially Mitsubishi or Siemens logic (preferred).
  • Ability to read and work with electrical drawings.
  • Experience in scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Capability to handle small projects, from concept to commissioning.
  • Multi-skilled capabilities, with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatics expertise.
  • Inspection and testing qualifications.
  • Previous experience with food industry plant machinery (preferred).
