Mechanical Fitter

• Location: Gateshead
• Salary: £18.50 per hour
• Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Shift Pattern: 2 weeks of day shift / 2 weeks of night shift 

Our fantastic client is seeking a number of skilled Mechanical Assembly Fitters to join their team in the Gateshead area. With over 50 years of experience in machining and assembling critical subsea components and systems for the Oil & Gas industry, they are a market leader in the specialised products they produce. • Assemble hydrostatic and gas test assemblies and undertake specified testing, validating results.
• Undertake assembly/fitting tasks, adhering to customer specifications.
• Conduct pressure tests and flush various hydraulic systems and actuators, ensuring cleanliness standards and incorporating results into customer reports.
• Support valve function testing on hydraulic actuators.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
• Be flexible and willing to work overtime to meet customer requirements.
• Train and mentor others, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

• Experience in general assembly/fitting work, following customer procedures.
• Proficiency in working on hydraulic sub-sea actuators.
• Skilled in hydrostatic pressure testing and gas testing.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Time-served or equivalent demonstrable experience within a similar role.
• Flexibility to work a two-shift pattern, including night shifts which attract an additional allowance.
