Mechanical Fitter

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Royal Naval Warships. These range from the QEC Carriers, through the T45 destroyers to the HUNT Class.

In your first few weeks in this Mechanical Fitter role, you can expect to:

• Carry out a trade-specific risk assessment before every task, reporting any accidents and near misses via the necessary SHE process
• Ensure all tools and equipment that are used are suitable, fit for purpose and in date for any inspection required
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance overhaul and repair as detailed by the team leader on a variety of mechanical equipment machinery and systems on vessels
• Remove, overhaul, repair, install and test mechanical equipment, machinery and systems.

To apply for this Mechanical Fitter role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC ONC or relevant experience
• Comfortable with working at height and in confined spaces.

You must also meet the requirements for UK Security Clearance including the last 5 years continuous residency in the UK
