Role: Mechanical Fitter OR Welder Fabricator
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am till 4pm (some flex with start/finish times)
Salary: £33,000 to £37,000 per annum
Location: Commutable from Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Billingshurst, Dorking, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead and surrounding areas

We are actively in search of a reliable and enthusiastic Mechanical Fitter OR Welder Fabricator who is interested in a varied and physical role where you will get your hands dirty, covering a variety of steel and frame work including repairs, stripping and re-building, welding and fabrication work. The hours of start/finish are flexible, along with the opportunity and scope to take on more responsibilities and gain further qualifications too if this is of interest. Overtime is available and paid at x1.5 and x2.0 and is a weekly paid job so any overtime worked, you don't need to wait long to receive it!

Responsibilities

This is varied role and focusing on fabrication, welding and steel repairs. It's an important and critical role within the factory, to keep things maintained and working. You will also be assisting with mechanical and repair work, documenting work completed and some involvement in stores too. The role is physical and in an environment where you will get dirty.

· Completing set-ups, basic mechanical repairs, planned maintenance and lubrication activities.
· Equipment strip-down and rebuilding (following drawings).
· Welding and fabrication work in respect of repairing the steelwork and main frame
· Record materials used & maintain stock records of materials.
· Conduct running repairs to fleet equipment.
· Maintain accurate records of work completed.
· Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
· Fully comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
· Assisting with maintenance tasks e.g. refractory replacement, wheel greasing.
· Be actively involved in improving site safety.

Requirements

· Mechanical experience, ideally in a workshop or industrial or manufacturing environment.
· Welding / fabrication experience.
· Must be physically fit and active.
· Self-discipline and multi-tasking, the ability to self-manage as this role is rather autonomous
· Driving licence and own transport.
· Not put off by repetitive tasks and getting your hands dirty
