Mechanical Estimator - Cambridge - Permanent - Commercial projects

A well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to be based in their office just North of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding office for a reputable award-winning M&E business. They cover a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, data centres, defence, industrial and residential. These projects will range in value but typically be from £150,000 to several million. Most of their projects are with repeat clients due to reputation and long-standing relationships.

As the Mechanical Estimator you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
· Produce competitive, commercially viable tenders for new and existing clients.
· Ability to identify alternative designs to obtain competitive advantages.
· Carry out take off's from working drawings.
· Able to negotiate the optimum tender price from suppliers, wholesalers and subcontractors.
· Ensure tenders are prepared to a high standard.
· Participate in handover of successful bids to delivery team.
· Ensure delivery team understand the technical, financial and key programme issues.

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
· Previous experience of a similar role within a building services contracting environment.
· Mechanically qualified, with associated qualifications
· Ideally, they are looking for someone from the local East Anglia area that has already developed close working relationships with end user and main contractor clients.
