Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician - Days (PERMANENT)
Location: Cullompton
Salary: £31,000 per annum. You will receive time and half when working saturday and double time when working sunday's. If you complete all your shifts with 100% attendance you will receive £60 a month on top of your salary
Hours:Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm. You will also work 1 weekend in 4 & be on a weekly call out rota.

Our very well established client in Cullompton has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Mechanical Engineer on their day shift in a busy environment on a permanent basis.

JOB SCOPE:
The role will involve working within a team of Engineers and responding to breakdown maintenance, preventative maintenance schedules, production improvement programmes and day to day site maintenance. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for completing many different Mechanical
Engineering tasks.

Role:

  • General Mechanical fitting, component assembly/dissemble.
  • Centrifugal Pumps.
  • All types of welding.
  • Fabrication
  • Threaded & welded pipe work.
  • Machining (Milling &Turning).
  • Industrial environments.
  • Must adhere to all Health and Safety standards and regulations, PPE requirements at all times and make certain familiar with these
  • Have a legal responsibility under Section 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) (1974) to take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions
  • There are various Acts and Regulations that place responsibility on individuals whilst at work
  • The HASAWA (1974) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (1999) are the two most important but by no means the only ones
  • Copies of these legislative documents are held in the Health and Safety Function. If you should require any clarification or assistance, contact the Head of Health and Safety
  • Must have read, understand and agree with all company Policies including Social Media and Bribery and Corruption Policies
  • Where company or hired vehicle is provided be fully aware of Policy and criteria for the use of this benefit
  • Any other duties within the gambit of your skills base as business needs dictate. Please note that should your performance decline, and or you do not adhere to policies/procedures, and or do not meet set targets; in such circumstances, the Company reserves the right to downgrade your job role/title and package, and or to evoke disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

  • Have a high aptitude within their field of trade meeting the required industry standards.
  • Attention to detail while working on their own initiative and or part of a team, taking pride in their work while producing/achieving the highest of standards.
  • Must adhere to company policy and Standards
  • Pay attention to detail and inform Company or client of any mistakes or concerns
  • Must possess excellent planning and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to follow instructions and adhere to procedures at all times
  • Be confident and to ask for clarification where there is uncertainty
  • Be resilient and take on responsibility while demonstrating integrity and honesty in performing job role
  • Attend work or client sites, on time, and provide first class service to the business or client
  • Have good literacy skills and to be able to record information accurately on all relevant documentation as business and client needs dictate
  • Always adhere to Health and Safety rules and make certain that these are executed correctly and that others working alongside are also working safely
  • To report any Health and Safety accident or near miss incident in a timely and correct manner
  • Always ensure that workstations are neat and tidy; and planners are up to date and accurate where applicable
  • To keep healthy and perform work activities to the best of ability
  • Attend any company briefings as requested
  • To ensure that all notices posted onto notice board are read and understood
  • Be able to work as part of a team or on own initiative
  • Possess good communication skills
