Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Assessor

Location: Middlesbrough, Northeast England

Join a dynamic team within our esteemed college in Middlesbrough, dedicated to shaping the future of mechanical engineering talent. We're seeking a Mechanical Engineering Assessor to work closely with apprentices in the local area, nurturing their skills and guiding them towards excellence in the field.

Duties:

  • Travel around the local area, visiting employer sites to engage with apprentices.
  • Mentor and assess apprentices aged 16-19 in various mechanical engineering disciplines, focusing on topics such as machining, milling, turning, lathe operations, and more.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to apprentices at Level 3, ensuring they meet and exceed industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Valid driving license and reliable transport for travel to employer sites.
  • Minimum of a Level 3 engineering qualification, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Extensive workshop or onsite experience within machine, showcasing practical expertise in the field.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Teaching experience, while not mandatory, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship frameworks and assessment processes.
