Role – Mechanical Design Team Leader

Type – Permanent

Location – Beccles

Salary – £45,000 - £55,000, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures engineering equipment and machinery, with them looking to take on a Mechanical Design Team Leader, on a permanent basis, in the Beccles area.

The Mechanical Design Team Leader will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Industry experience working as a Mechanical Team Leader, Manager, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Previous experience of leading a team of 5 or more Engineers would be desirable
  • Having knowledge of 3D CAD – SolidWorks ideally, but other software may also be considered
  • Good organisational skills are required and good time management too
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office programmes
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Mechanical Design Team Leader role will involve:

  • Leading a team of Mechanical Design Engineers
  • Working on a range of company projects
  • Producing mechanical engineering solutions and checking designs from the other Mechanical Design Engineers – working with SolidWorks
  • Taking projects from concept to completion
  • Working closely with other engineering colleagues
  • Being flexible to travel to customers sites at commissioning stage occasionally
