Mechanical Design Engineer - £40k-£50k - Milton Keynes - Special Purpose Machinery
Platform Recruitment is collaborating with a manufacturing company specialising in the development of bespoke machinery, from initial concept to full-scale production. They're currently seeking an adept Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. The ideal candidate will possess the skills necessary to deliver robust and thoroughly tested mechanical design solutions, while also spearheading mechanical development initiatives for new product projects.

Main Duties:
+ 3D CAD design
+ Design and develop new machinery
+ Prototype and test designs
+ Translate customer requirements into detailed design specifications
+ Test feasibility of designs
+ Engage in research & development activities
+ Work as part of a team and on individual projects

Skills & Experience Required:
+ Proven experience in designing special purpose machinery or capital equipment
+ Proficiency in 3D CAD software
+ Track record of taking products from conceptualisation to production phase
+ Ability to generate comprehensive manufacturing drawings
+ Knowledge of fabrication, machining, and assembly techniques
+ Hands-on and practical approach to engineering challenges

The salary will be between £40,000-£50,000 depending on experience. There is also a generous benefits package available.
