We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist UK supplier of Safety Pipework, Transfer Pumps and Breather Valves / Instrumentation for use on storage tank sites. Apart from design responsibilities there is an element of project engineering to the position. This is a permanent role and based in the Spennymoor area.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of fuel pumping systems, assemblies, and components

Generate 3D CAD models

Generate 2D drawings for clients, fabrication, and installation

Support workshop fabrication/assembly as a designer

Support on-site installation works of pumping systems

Contribute design input for the tender team

Produce flowrate and pressure drop calculations

Assist with equipment selection and specification for procurement

Assist with procurement of components and organising materials delivery to site.

Participate in client meetings including HAZOP studies

Contribute to pump controls system design

Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering qualification e.g.

Bachelor's degree

HND

Approved apprenticeship

Experience in similar role

Skills

Familiar with Autodesk CAD packages

AutoCAD

Revit

Other CAD experience welcomed but must be willing to learn and work with AutoCAD and Revit

Full-time on-site at the Spennymoor office

Mondays to Fridays

8:30am to 4:30pm (37.5 hour working week)
