Job Title: Mechanic

Location: Northern Ireland

Salary: £28,000 - £50,000 a year

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Kerr's Tyres & Auto are now recruiting for a trained Mechanic to join our growing team in Northern Ireland.

The Mechanic is responsible for the full maintenance and repairs of vehicles.

Key Tasks Required:

  • Ability to identify faults and repair components & fit new and manufactured parts
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Undertaking full inspection before hand-over to customer
  • Recording all relevant details, completing records etc
  • Understanding of diagnostics and fault finding
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Maintaining a clean and neat work space and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
  • Experience in Tyre fitting an advantage

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Must be fully qualified mechanic or 2 years working experience
  • Full Current Driving Licence essential
  • Mechanics tool kit
  • Experience in both Diagnostics and Fault Finding

  • Achieve job expectations and adhere to Company processes, policies and procedures to ensure productivity standards are met
  • Identify any issues with equipment and vehicles and report to the Centre Manager at the earliest opportunity
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Centre, workshop, reception and Company vehicles
  • Mechanical and visual check of Company vehicles
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance and uniform
  • Develop technical knowledge by attending training when required
  • Participate and engage in Centre team meetings
  • Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures to ensure a safe, secure and legal work environment
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations including Health and Safety obligations, requirements and the reporting of accidents
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as shall from time to time be required by the Company, Centre Manager or Assistant Manager within the competency of the role and post holder
