The Role:

The Meat Manager is accountable for supervising staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the entire meat department. This includes cutting and trimming meat to meet company standards, operating department equipment efficiently, and merchandising products according to company guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities as Meat Manager:

  • Ensure butchers adhere to job description guidelines.
  • Evaluate associate performance and take action when necessary.
  • Create weekly work schedules and monitor payroll vS sales.
  • Overseeing the department's operations, ensuring food safety standards are met.
  • overseeing product preparation
  • Processing inventories
  • Manage department budget, prepare reports, and conduct report analysis.
  • Manage all department employees including training, coaching and performance reviews
  • Building and managing displays that are seasonally accurate and appropriate
  • Meet waste goals for the department
  • Order products accurately based on demand, meet deadlines for foreign, warehouse, and local orders
  • Enforce meat cutting, trimming, packing, and merchandising policies.
  • Ensure proper rotation, merchandising, and code dating of products.
  • Working to policy hygiene standards , including wearing gloves when serving cooked meats and following equipment cleaning regulations.

Key Requirements for this Meat Manager:

  • You must have experience as Meat Manager(counters) within a supermarket retailer.
  • Ideal you are in control of stock, including ordering, inventory and wastage management
  • Health & Safety trained to the requirements of the business.
  • That you have led a team (including Butchers)
  • Must have a motorbike or driving license.
  • Adapt to working in different environmental conditions.
  • Adapt to working in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and damp conditions, such as proximity to ovens or refrigerated coolers.
