Our client, a leading company in the aerospace industry, is seeking a skilled and motivated Masker Blaster to join their team. As a Masker Blaster, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of parts for plating, ensuring quality standards are met and contributing to the overall success of their operations.

Summary:

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 months with potential to extend
  • Location: Wolverhampton
  • Pay Rate: £18.50 plus shift allowance
  • Hours: 37 hours per week

Duties Include:

  • Preparation of parts for plating by blasting (using various blasting media)
  • Interpret drawings.
  • Preparation of parts by masking using tapes
  • Conducting basic surface treatment operation, Granodising, etching, etc.
  • Capable with training of performing any other chemical process within the manufacturing route
  • Completion of plating technique sheets in full
  • Competent in handling of hazardous substances and chemicals
  • Conversant with chemical HS&E requirements
  • Capable of making chemical additions to various vats with training
  • Capable of reading drawings/procedures and understanding process specifications
  • Awareness of Operator Self Inspection OSI
  • Assessment of plated features for conformance to drawing and specification requirements including use of measurement equipment (micrometers, Vernier's, bowers and plug gauges)
  • Completion of all batch specific tests
  • Ensuring plating baths are fit for purpose by conducting daily monitoring
  • Production of periodic test pieces to demonstrate process compliance
  • Provide assistance in quality control systems, investigations (i.e. non-conformance reviews, root cause analysis), continuous improvement activity, etc.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Booking in and out of parts using FIFO (first in first out) system
  • De-masking and stripping

  • Able to work own initiative
