Manual Miller / Turner

Location: Portsmouth

Duration: Contract: 10-12 weeks minimum

Hourly Rate: £15/hr PAYE (or umbrella equivalent)

Are you skilled in manual milling and turning? Have you got experience of low-volume manual machining, milling and turning?

If so, and you're looking for a good contract with lots of overtime and rates, then please read on.

Please note - this contract will be working day shifts: 8am - 4.30pm only.

  • They specialise in precision engineering, bespoke low and high volume manufacturing, and serve a diverse range of industries.

Position Overview:

  • They are seeking a skilled Manual Miller/Turner to join their team on a contract basis.
  • As a Manual Miller/Turner, you will be responsible for operating manual milling and turning machines to produce high-quality components according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual milling and turning machines.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Select appropriate tools and materials for each job.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Manual Miller/Turner.
  • Proficiency in operating manual milling and turning machines.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Relevant qualifications or apprenticeship in machining (preferred).
