Manual Machinist

Hawk-3 Talent Solutions are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our well-known client based for a Manual Machinist based in the Bristol area.

For this role you will be required to perform the following Manual Machinist roles:

Set up and operate conventional machine tools (centre lathe, manual mill, pillar drill, etc) and complete specified machine safety checks and daily checks lists

Perform shop calculations to determine optimum feeds and speeds.

Produce components to the required standard within the expected times.

Use of related shop equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments

Self-inspection of all items manufactured, to verify conformance to drawings and specification.

Mentoring of junior team members

Identify & communicate opportunities to enhance quality and reduce cost.

Work with and support other departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Ideally you will have the below experience/requirements:

Completed recognised apprenticeship or national technical training programme.

City & Guilds or NVQ qualification

Demonstrated understanding and experience of turning & milling, and material properties/applications.

Proven ability to read and interpret critical dimensions on engineering drawings.

Pay Information, Work Hours and Company Incentives

Starting yearly salary of £28,400+ based on a 37 Hour week.

Regular Overtime and Weekend work available at Time and a Half and Double Time

Working schedule 07:30-15:30 Monday-Friday with an early finish Friday.
