Based on the outskirts of East Lancashire, this growing service and supply business operate within the construction sector. With several high profile clients across the UK, they have grow through the provision of top quality services and continually evolve to ensure state of the art product lines are available. Following several years of growth they are now adding heads into all areas of the business and this Management Accountant role will support the Financial Controller across various duties within the finance team.

Your role as Management Accountant:

Assisting the Financial Controller, this management accounting role will oversee a variety of tasks in the finance department. Whilst supporting with month-end duties, you shall also be required to maintain the financial ledgers. Processing transactions and payments in a timely manner you shall assist in cash management whilst ensuring the effective collection of outstanding monies. Working closely with suppliers and customers, you shall also manage applications for credit, monitor and review new and existing customer records and ensure effective risk controls are in place.

Main role duties:
• Assist in the preparation of month end management accounts to include accruals, prepayments and supporting analysis to aid decision making
• Recording of all financial transactions related to ongoing and delivered projects, ensuring costs do not exceed budget whilst implementing measures to control spending.
• Invoice management to include responsibility for weekly/monthly payment runs
• VAT submission
• Pension management in line with company policies and procedures
• Credit management including debtor review, new business credit checking and the collection of outstanding monies in a timely and effective manner.
• Cash flow management, monitoring cash balances meet business needs
• Bank reconciliation
• Keeping a record of all financial transactions effectively for internal/external auditing and tax purposes.
• Assisting in cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and information.
• Reporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of process, procedure whilst ensuring tight financial controls are in place.

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:

To be considered for this role you shall have experience in a fast paced environment, and in a similar role. QBE or AAT qualified, you shall have a rounded skillset and be hands on across all elements of finance, to include ledger management, Credit Control, Month end accounting and VAT submission.
