Management Accountant

• Job Type: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent
• Location: Rochester, Kent
• Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 per year (dependent on experience and hours)
• Expected Hours: 20 – 40 per week

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled Management Accountant to join an established scaffolding company. With their finance team expanding and undergoing internal changes, this role presents a unique chance for the right individual to truly make an impact and shape the position. We are flexible regarding the employment terms and are open to considering both full-time and part-time arrangements, as well as candidates qualified by experience.

• Work closely with the Financial Controller & Account Manager to prepare monthly management accounts for review by our external accountants and Directors.
• Conduct full monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including all backup spreadsheets for manager review and complete supplier account to statement reconciliation.
• Prepare management accounts up to the trial balance stage, including a detailed review of the profit and loss, and provide notes on discrepancies.
• Record management journals for accrued and deferred income, accruals and prepayments, depreciation, stock adjustments, wages CIS and PAYE, project applications/retention adjustments, HP/finance lease/loan interest, and corporate and deferred tax provisions.
• Handle CIS & VAT returns, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and other ad hoc duties as required.

• Proficiency with Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll is essential.
• Advanced Excel skills (A+++ level).
• Experience in accountancy practice is preferred.
• Experience in the Construction Industry is advantageous.
• Knowledge of EPOS systems would be beneficial.
