Management Accountant

A retail company based in Dorking are looking for a Management Accountant to assist on a 12 month contract.

The role is hybrid - 3 days per week in the office.

It will be a varied role as part of a small and friendly team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, key accountabilities include:

* Producing monthly management accounts for some of the Retail stores for review by the Retail Finance Lead

* Producing monthly management accounts for the Wholesale businesses for review by the Head of Finance * Daily, weekly and monthly analysing the results and providing explanations of financial performance

* Reviewing and reconciling balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepayments, intercompany and fixed assets

* Becoming the finance business partner for the Retail store managers

* Producing quarterly VAT returns

* Assisting with ad-hoc management reporting & queries

* Providing support to the Wholesale Credit Controller - reviewing customer orders, dealing with customer queries, managing internal accounts

* Providing support with the year-end audit process

* Assisting with the annual budget & forecast process

* Ad-hoc work / cover for other team members as required e.g. holiday cover

* Assisting with payroll

The ideal Management Accountant will have:

* Oracle experience preferred but not essential

* Strong Excel and wider MS Office skills

* Excellent attention to detail

* Ability to adapt to changing requirements

* Ability to be proactive and work independently is critical in this role

* Be a team player, able to work with staff across various departments

* Be part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or QBE

* 3+ years of work experience in a management accounting role

* Payroll experience desirable but not essential

* Solid understanding of month end close processes
