Financial/Management Accountant

£50k-£60K + Study support if necessary

Milton Keynes (Only 1 day a month in the office)

Halliday Marx have partnered with a multi national services/communications company to recruit for a Financial/Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and responsibility for Statutory accounts preparation and audit. Overview and control of statutory audits for the region, ensuring accurate and timely submission of the statutory accounts in compliance with statutory requirements (including US GAAP reconciliation).
  • Preparing the production of the statutory accounts under local GAAP and/or liaising with external providers.
  • Leading ongoing country compliance and ensuring robust control environment is in place across the regions.
  • Ownership and responsibility for the integrity of the general ledger ensuring that appropriate reconciliations are performed for the balance sheet including control accounts, as well as highlighting, and managing risks to the business.
  • Delivering high quality reporting by reviewing and overseeing monthly management accounts. Manage preparation & approval of month end journal entries for entities across EMEA within Group deadlines.
  • Manage and drive the refinement of process, procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency and control across accounting and balance sheet substantiation activities;
  • Improve and streamline Month end close process by standardising month end close checklist and automating repetitive tasks, improving communication and collaboration among teams, and identifying and addressing bottlenecks in the process.
  • Supporting the overall improvements of ERP, systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensuring all reports are prepared in line with timetable and constantly striving to improve reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency of existing processes and propose improvements to streamline the use of key business metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Take full ownership of one entity's monthly management accounts and intercompany reconciliations within the region.
  • Other ad hoc roles/tasks as deemed necessary.

Requirements:

  • ACCA/CIMA - Finalist / Qualified.
  • Work experience as an accountant with strong working knowledge of P&L, balance sheet, intercompany accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ideally have some experience with improving processes.
  • Assisted with the year end audit.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
