Blair West is working in partnership with Magna International as they are looking to appoint a part-qualified management accountant for their Sunderland Exteriors Plant team.

Supporting a strong team in place, including a bright, up-and-coming financial controller, you will be tasked with assisting with preparing relevant, timely, and accurate reporting and analysis to aid management decision-making.

The opportunity:
  • Prepare and report monthly actual plant financial performance.
  • Preparation of period, quarterly, and annual financial packs, including operational and financial KPIs.
  • Cost variance and budget analysis with active commentary.
  • I am responsible for internal costing processes and liaising with the commercial department.
  • Ownership and reporting of CAPEX projects and post-implementation appraisals.
  • Analyse product profitability against QAF.
  • Foreign currency cash flow forecasts and preparation of currency hedging requirements.
  • Ownership of working capital levels and cash flow plan/forecasting.
  • Work with the internal and external audit teams to ensure compliance against all relevant IFRS.
  • Maintain Magna’s Sarbanes-Oxley Minimum Checklist Requirements.
  • Maintain & develop bill of material (B.O.M) to support inventory valuation.
  • Support quarterly and annual inventory counts, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for variances.
  • Provide leadership for the finance team and support the SMT in the absence of FC.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you're:
  • Part-Qualified in either CIMA or ACCA.
  • Experienced within the manufacturing sector is a must, preferably in automotive.
  • Experienced and have working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Experienced with stock, BOMs, and cost management.
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced and changing environment, with the ability to manage your own workload.
  • Able to work in a minor team and pick up duties outside their job description on an ad-hoc basis.
