Management Accountant

The Company:

The Role:

We are experiencing a period of exciting growth and to support this we are scaling up our back-office service teams. We have a brand new and full-time position for an enthusiastic Management Accountant.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and the rest of the finance team and be responsible for assisting in delivering the finance team’s goals.

The position is based in our modern, air-conditioned, Leeds office and includes a combination of office and home working arrangements.

Key responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:

  • Report to the Finance Manager.
  • Preparation of timely monthly management accounts for three individual companies, including supporting analysis.
  • Support finance transactional team with month end routines including reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Assist FM with preparing rolling forecasts.
  • Assist with process improvements and ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Assist with intercompany invoicing and reconciliation.
  • Overseeing the VAT process and submissions to both HMRC and Irish Revenue.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs for three purchase ledgers.
  • Manage Debtors alongside other finance team members.
  • Cash forecasting
  • Margin analysis
  • Preparing Sales commission statements
  • Pricing profitability analysis.
  • General Finance duties and analysis.
  • Supervise and support a finance team of three.
  • Assist in preparation of annual accounts and financial audits.
  • Support both the Finance Manager and the Finance Director with adhoc duties as required.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Previous experience of working in financial payments environment will be a significant advantage.
  • Experience of supervising a finance team on a day-to-day basis
  • Accounting qualifications are essential - preferably CIMA.
  • Personable communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with customers and suppliers via telephone, email and video conferencing.
  • Confident working with colleagues at all levels across the wider business and the ability to communicate financial result.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • A team player that is self-motivated with a desire to achieve and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • A multi-tasker
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience of Sage 50, Xero or similar accounting systems.
  • Solid Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams etc) including essential intermediate/ advanced Excel skills.

What’s on offer:

  • £35,000 to £40,000 PA depending on experience and skillset.
