Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working exclusively with a leading wholesale business based in Tamworth. Our client pride themselves on their commitment to excellence, innovation, and ethical business practices. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established team as Management Accountant, taking responsibility for 2 junior members of staff.

They are looking for a skilled Management Accountant to undertake a variety of financial tasks within the organisation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting decision-making processes by providing accurate and timely financial information, analysis, and insights to senior management. It is also integral to this role that the successful candidate can work independently and be confident in their conversations with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyse financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying variances and providing explanations to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), highlighting trends and potential risks or opportunities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and budgeting processes.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
