Major Endoscopy Repair Technician

Are you experienced in Major Endoscopy Repair and would like to utilise your professional skills and experience and become an Endoscopy Technical Trainer.

Our client is the leading service provider of Managed Equipment Services (MES) for the NHS and private health sector in the UK. They are currently looking for an Endoscopy Technical Trainer to join their team based in Southend on Sea.

The ideal candidate would either have experience within major repair or in the delivery of technical repair training across a range of current and future flexible endoscopes, from apprentice and progression to minor, major, and advance repair techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering activities in support of development of in-house repair capability for existing and new medical devices
  • Engineering and technical support of the Endoscopy Business unit and the wider business
  • Participation in process improvement and cost reduction activities

The Role

  • Assessment and analysis of trainee performance with a focus on repair quality
  • Carry out pre-interview technical skills aptitude tests for potential candidates and existing personnel progression/development
  • Undertake routine Post Repair Audits on equipment
  • Development of repair method sheets and production of technical bulletins
  • Provide technical support to the Endoscopy workshop
  • Analysis, testing, fault finding and component level repair of PCBs and associated mechanical sub- assemblies
  • Analysis, testing, fault finding and determination of micro-CMOS sensors
  • Verification & validation of components and assemblies for current and new devices
  • Development of test apparatus, jigs & tools
  • Initiation and completion of risk assessment tables
  • Assist with the upkeep of calibration & maintenance records
  • Supplier engagement and liaison
  • Generate purchase orders and monitor through to delivery
  • Maintain documentation in line with business requirements
  • Complete all associated administrative work as outlined in the companies’ procedures
  • Perform additional tasks as directed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering or a related industry - Desirable
  • Industry-related or technical training- specific work history - Desirable
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills - Essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication - Essential
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office suite - Essential
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and work minimal supervision - Essential

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years major repair capability across a variety of scope generations - Essential
  • 2 - 5 Years in an engineering/electronics environment with experience on medical equipment - Desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO:13485 ISO:14971 - Desirable
  • Analysis & problem solving skills (8D - DMAIC process) - Desirable
  • CAD drawing - Autodesk Inventor - AutoCAD - SolidWorks - Desirable
