Maintenance Team Leader

Zenith People are working with our client who are a North-East based Manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join them on a permanent basis.

As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will expected to positively contribute to the Engineering Department through your Accountabilities whilst leading a team of Shift Engineers across a 24 hour shift pattern to allow them to carry out their role as effectively as possible whilst always striving to reach the highest standards to ensure the site runs efficiently.

Manage team breaks so that there is maximum engineering coverage on the shop floor at all times.

• Take ownership of actions that are identified during a PPM, provide appropriate follow up to ensure the closure of outstanding work as quickly as possible i.e. ordering spares, checking stock, planning in remedial work. Continually review PPM’s for their relevance, accuracy and frequency. Feedback any improvements to Management.
• Maintain an up-to-date Work Tracker for the site
• Seek to proactively identify improvement projects across site.
• Participate in annual appraisals for Shift Engineers.
• Input all relevant information on the Shift Handover sheet to enable effective continuity in ongoing works.
• Carry out daily checks on Shift Engineers to ensure their personal tool bags/ boxes are accurate, up to date and order ready. Ensure tool boxes and tools are kept in a safe condition.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Fully Time-served Apprenticeship in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Previous experience as a Manager - Managing and leading teams of Maintenance Technicians on shifts
• Btec or ONC Preferred
