The following full time position has come available at one Wilson Recruitment's most prestigious clients based in Hereford. The position would most likely suit someone who is semi-retired, maybe a HGV Driver who wants office hours, someone who likes variety etc.
The job is not particularly physically demanding as the company do provide appropriate equipment but there will no doubt be quite a bit of bending and stretching.
The average week would be made up of c.15-20% HGV Driving of which consists of shunting vehicles in the yard or delivery of or collection of customer vehicles. 75-80% of your week would be most likely cleaning and maintenance. Please note, if you have experience and/or qualifications as a HGV Mechanic or HGV Technician or HGV Fitter, the company will escalate the basic pay to c.£15 per hour plus over time at time + half.

Salary: c.£25k (c.£12ph) + overtime + benefits
Location: Hereford
Contract: Monday to Friday, 0800-1700

In short, the job includes but not limited to the following duties:

- cleaning pits, the workshop, the toilets, shop floor and outside areas
- weeding the yard, litter picking, painting over worn car parking lines
- using vibration equipment for cleaning of vehicles up to 44t trucks
- driving of vans where required, possibly to collect or deliver vehicle parts
- driving of HGVs where required, moving vehicles in the yard, delivery or collection of customer vehicles
- driving of FLT or Tele handler
- use of a push along sweeper, floor scrubber and/or floor dryer for cleaning floors and pits
- painting, decorating, basic DIY
- if you are a qualified and/or time served van mechanic, you will have some minor mechanical work available also

Candidate:

MUST hold an in date HGV Class 1, cat C+E licence with maximum 6 points
WILL be a team player with a good worth ethic and willing to get stuck in
SHALL understand that some days will be slower than others, this is not a fast paced job
CAN demonstrate a steady career history with an up to date CV and references
SHOULD be organised, be able to spot health & safety hazards, be able to use company equipment etc
COULD have prior maintenance, cleaning or DIY experience (desirable)
MAY possess in date and external Tele Handler or Counter Balance licence (desirable)
MIGHT have some mechanical experience working for a garage, workshop, VMU or main dealership (desirable)
MIGHT be a warehouse cleaner with a HGV Class 1 licence
