Maintenance Operative - Clapham SW11

Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

£13.15 per hour

We are currently looking for an Maintenance Operative to join us in a high end residential buildings in the Clapham area on a temporary basis. As maintenance operative you will service the development, its guests and visitors by inspecting and maintaining the building, fittings, equipment and ensuring they are compliant with building regulations and health and safety requirements.

As a Maintenance Operative you will be expected to;

• Have some painting experience.
• To be a main point of contact and be responsible for regular inspections.
• To be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the internal structure, fittings and equipment at the development.
• Tending to issues upon request and ensure the most efficient use of Estate resources.
• To report any defects and maintain cleanliness of the work area as required.
• To be responsible for quality customer service for residents and guests whilst carrying out work, and strive for continuous improvement.
• To conduct the required health and safety inspections and activities to assist in keeping the development and workplace a safe environment for all.
• To oversee the work carried out by Staff and Contractors as required.
• To be flexible and to undertake any such duties as may be reasonably expected of the role.
• To adopt a proactive attitude when dealing with Estate issue.
• Correct reporting of any security/Health & Safety issues, incidents and complaints. Taking appropriate action in the event of an emergency.

The ideal candidate will have;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance systems.
• Proven ability to apply best practice in the use of all materials and equipment that is provided to carry out work.
• Practical application and working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and legislation to eliminate or mitigate risk in the workplace.
