Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturer. The role involves fault finding and corrective actions on all production equipment, as well as providing engineering and operational support to manufacturing processes.

• Conducting routine maintenance and testing on commercial and production equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Responding to equipment faults and operational issues, diagnosing breakdown problems quickly and efficiently.
• Fitting new parts and ensuring equipment is working correctly after repairs or installations.
• Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
• Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment, and monitoring and controlling maintenance costs.
• Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
• Improving health and safety policies and procedures.
• Working with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines.
• Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.

• Proven experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the packaging industry.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work on a 3-shift pattern rotation.
