Salary: £47,000

Are you a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer looking to progress your career with a prominent and recognised manufacturer who supplies some of the nations most well-known retailers?

Yolk Recruitment are currently working on behalf of a market leading manufacturer who are well established and recognised for their continuous investment and passion for continuous improvement. This presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly ambitious engineer to join a proactive team.

This is what you'll be doing

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Implementing both proactive and reactive maintenance procedures for facility and production equipment promptly while adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Maximising machine up time while minimising costs by executing efficient planned preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborating with fellow plant engineers and team leaders to prioritise machine maintenance hours for planned tasks.
  • Taking an active part in planning, supervising, and overseeing daily routines and inspections.
  • Enforcing a Total Quality Approach throughout the entire site.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure planned preventative maintenance is carried out effectively to minimise downtime and uphold production schedules.
  2. Control various specialised operations with flexibility and quick decision-making in a high-care, fast-paced environment.
  3. Perform advanced maintenance tasks individually and collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve control and mechanical failures.
  4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Health and Safety enhancements, to optimise departmental performance.
  5. Proactively troubleshoot and solve problems, identifying root causes and evaluating options for resolution.
  6. Strictly adhere to health and safety protocols and company policies, actively participating in risk assessment activities.
  7. Monitor plant mechanical performance, identifying trends and escalating unresolved issues to management.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a food or packing environment.
  2. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  3. Ideally have experience with PLC systems and automated machinery.
  4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Relevant Engineering qualification (level 2 or above)
