Facilities Engineer
Telford 
Up to £40,000 

Are you an experienced Facilities Engineer with a strong background in maintaining complex systems within a manufacturing environment? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated engineer to join one of the worlds premier global automotive suppliers in Telford. 

Responsibilities:
  • Experience of managing and maintainng efficient operations of various systems including lighting, compressors, cooling towers, fire alarm systems, plumbing and ventilation. 
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure proper functioning of all facilities equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise, minimising downtime and disruptions to the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to proactively address potential equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute equipment upgrades or modifications.
  • Oversee the site security measures, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing or repairs when necessary.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in facilities engineering, incorporating innovative solutions when applicable.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Facilities Engineer in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting systems 
  • Previous leadership experience managing a team (e.g. contractors) 
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, or fire safety will be an advantage.
