Maintenance Engineer

Please note - we have 2 roles and 2 shifts on offer:

Days only - Monday to Friday - 6am - 2:30pm or 8am - 4:40pm

or

Nights only - covering 3 nights between Monday and Thursday - 6pm - 6am

As the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all machinery, equipment, and facilities within the company.

Working closely with the operations team to minimise downtime and maximise productivity through proactive maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and perform repairs in a timely manner to minimise production interruptions.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimise equipment performance and reliability.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialised repairs and services.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, and other automated systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

• Qualified in Electrical field is a huge advantage
• Proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting PLCs and automated control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
• Certification in maintenance management or relevant technical training is a plus.
