Mainstream SEN Teaching Assistant with ADHD and Emotional Support Experience Wanted!

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide tailored support and guidance to students with special educational needs, including ADHD and emotional difficulties, within a mainstream classroom setting.

- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to implement individualised strategies and interventions that promote the academic and social development of students.

- Utilise your expertise in behaviour management techniques to support students in regulating their emotions and maintaining focus in the classroom.

- Foster positive relationships with students, offering encouragement, reassurance, and emotional support to help them overcome challenges and thrive academically and emotionally.

- Collaborate closely with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to meeting the needs of students with SEN.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school, with specific experience supporting students with ADHD and emotional difficulties.

- Strong understanding of ADHD and related behaviours, as well as strategies for managing and supporting students with emotional needs.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students, staff, and parents/carers.

- Patience, empathy, and resilience to respond effectively to the challenges and opportunities presented in a mainstream SEN setting.

- A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the holistic development of all students.
