Job Title: Machinist
Location: Livingston

Working Hours
37hrs per week
Monday to Thursday 6am to 2pm, Friday 6am to 12.20pm
Monday to Thursday 2pm to 10pm, Friday 12.20pm to 6.10pm
Monday Thursday 10pm to 6am and Friday 6:40pm to 1am

Salary

Rate 7A
Basic: £27,877.25
Shift allowance: £6,969.31 Annual salary (£34,846.56)

After 3 months successful probationary would move to 7C
Basic: £28,453.14
Shift allowance: £7,113.28 Annual salary (£35,566.42)

We are lucky to be working with one of the world's leading manufacturers of Nickel, Titanium and Steel alloy forgings for the aerospace, defence and energy sectors. A vacancy has arisen for a Machinist to join their team based in Livingston. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who would like to continue their career within an exciting and progressive manufacturing facility.

Education
Time served Machinist (Relevant apprenticeship (Must have trade papers)

Knowledge & Experience
  • Ideally, 2-3 years' experience in setting and operating machine shop equipment manual and CNC.
  • Practical experience in the use of some of the following preferable: Vertical turret lathes as a minimum
  • Manage of controls systems such as Fanuc
  • Knowledge and application of safe working practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures including SPC.
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting computer blueprints, sketches and process sheets is desirable, as well as using a variety of precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of machine tool setting procedures and tape experience.
  • Experience of working in a Machine Shop environment.
  • Must have a high degree of numerical ability.
