Our client is a prestigious manufacturing business in the heart of West Yorkshire who as part of their continued success seeks a Machine Operative to operate fibre feeding lines for the Bonded Wadding and Home Textile division.

With full training on all machinery, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that is thriving and is continually looking to develop and improve the skills of the team.

This role can be quite physically demanding with plenty of walking around involved.

A successful candidate must:

  • Be IT Literate.
  • Have an in-date FLT licence.
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and equipment according to specification, including ensuring the correct blend settings on the machines.
  • Keeping the hoppers running unless you have mechanical or electrical faults.
  • Perform basic maintenance such as unjamming hoppers as required.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance/Electrical departments on any breakdowns.
  • Participate in trouble shooting and problem resolutions, including KPI data collection and feedback.
  • Ensure each bale of fibre raw material is booked out for usage and traceability on the fibre booking sheets.
  • Operating FLT truck following all health and safety guidelines.

Working hours and wage:

You will be working on a rotating shift pattern Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00 40hrs per week with some overtime opportunities.

The hourly rate for this position is £12.46 per hour.

We would like to invite applications from Machine Operators and Production Operative with experience of driving a FLT Counterbalance truck could be advantageous.
