The logistics team within the Aurora department is responsible for supporting the UK's MOD Skynet Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system. They ensure the efficient movement and management of materials and equipment across various locations.

The role
As a Logistics Operative, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Using your developed communicational skills and attention to detail, you will contribute to the coordination of transport, oversee inventory, and manage the supply chain to ensure the smooth operation of Skynet's communications infrastructure.

Day-to-day, you'll manage formal emails with parts requests for onsite warehouses. These can be straightforward process requests for vehicle parts, but they can also be more complex, involving heavy items that require a forklift (training and certification will be provided), or dealing with dangerous goods (Specific safety training will be provided).

You will also:

  • Carry out Inventory Management through the maintenance of accurate records of equipment storage and movement.
  • Forwarding of stores to other locations, customers, and repair agents.

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This full-time position is based onsite at MOD Oakhanger (GU35 9JE), with a 39-hour workweek. The schedule runs from 07:30 to 16:00, Monday through Friday. Flexitime options are also available. Additionally, there is opportunity to earn extra income through on-call duties.

Essential experience of the Logistics Operative

  • Driving Licence
  • Computer literate (Outlook Email, Excel)
  • Warehouse or stores environment experience

Forklift training is preferred but not required, as we can provide the necessary training to help you get licensed.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
