Locum Solicitor (Safeguarding) – Walsall

£32.76 per hour

Contract – Full Time (minimum of 30 hours a week/maximum of 37 hours a week)

Duties/Responsibilities:

As a Locum Solicitor specialising in safeguarding, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal advice and representation in a variety of public family law cases. Your responsibilities will include advising client officers, attending meetings, preparing documentation, and representing our client in court proceedings, both in person and remotely.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conducting public family law case work with precision and professionalism.
  • Providing invaluable advice and guidance to our dedicated team of client officers.
  • Navigating complex legal procedures in care proceedings, adoption proceedings, and deprivation of liberty proceedings.
  • Representing our client with integrity and diligence in court hearings, ensuring the best interests of our community are upheld.

Our client is seeking a qualified solicitor with a proven track record in safeguarding law. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in local authority public family law and children’s safeguarding work.
  • Ideally, some exposure to employment law.
  • Willingness to attend our office in Darby House, Telford, on Wednesdays and Thursdays (at least one of the two days) to foster team cohesion.
  • Ability to work remotely (equipment provided), with flexibility to attend Court Hearings in Telford, Wolverhampton, or Walsall as needed.
