Your new role

We are looking for Locum Educational Psychologists (EP) for temporary posts until Aug 2025. This contract is offered on a hybrid basis which is a combination remote working and face to face (This role can be predominantly working from home)

As a Locum EP, you will be working in our EHCP team, completing the psychological advice towards Education Health and Care Plan assessments. We have two teams, one working on EHCPs and one working in schools on early intervention work.

This post will allow the successful individual to be part of an integrated service within Southend's Education, Inclusion and Early Years Directorate, promoting inclusive practice in relation to all children and young people, advocating for positive mental health and wellbeing.

Through statutory assessments and preventative strategies, including providing a range of assessments, training key adults, group work and multi-agency support, we aim to support children and young people to meet their academic and strong social development, enabling them to be the best they can be.

Through the delivery of advice, support, guidance and training to children and young people, their families and educational settings the service will continue to maximise levels of educational attainment, educational achievement and personal development; thereby supporting our most vulnerable learners to live their best lives.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this post, you must hold a professional post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Eligibility for Chartered Status and Associate Fellowship of the BPS.
