Locum Childcare Paralegal – up to £25 per hour Umbrella – Midlands – 3 months +

Position: Locum Childcare Paralegal

Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority

Duration: 3 months with the likelihood of extension thereafter

Working Pattern: Full time ideally but part time candidates who possess the relevant experience may also be considered

Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working with occasional office presence required

Hourly Rate: £20-25 per hour Umbrella (dependant on experience)

This is a position ideally looking for those who have existing experience of working within Local Government and Childcare Law. However, candidates who possess experience with Private Practice specialising in Childcare and/or Family Law are still encouraged to apply.

Duties may include:

• Assisting a team of Lawyers in the provision of a professional legal service to a range of Public Sector and not for profit clients regarding their Social Care functions, ensuring awareness of and compliance with legal duties within client organisations and protecting their best interests
• Providing support to Lawyers in the preparation of cases in courts and tribunals, mainly relating to Children’s Social Care
• Providing support and to act as a point of contract on a variety of cases, to include taking instructions and giving advice, carrying out research, preparing applications, drafting documents and correspondence, commissioning and instructing expert witnesses, liaising with witnesses, attending meetings and providing advice and representation in Courts or Tribunals
