Are you a skilled and motivated Light Civils Worker with experience in various construction tasks? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team on a major civil project in the Carland Cross area of Cornwall.

Role Overview:

As a Light Civils Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in our construction team. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Trial Holes and Scanning for Services:

    • Conducting trial holes to assess ground conditions and identify utility services.
    • Using specialized equipment to scan and detect underground utilities.
  2. Trenching and Excavation:

    • Excavating trenches for utilities installation, drainage, or other purposes.
    • Ensuring proper safety protocols during trenching activities.
  3. Concrete Work:

    • Assisting with concrete pouring, leveling, and finishing.
    • Knowledge of formwork and reinforcement.
  4. Fencing:

    • Installing and repairing fences as needed.
    • Ensuring fences meet quality standards and safety requirements.
  5. Tarmac Work:

    • Laying and compacting tarmac for roads, footpaths, or other surfaces.
    • Understanding different tarmac mixes and application techniques.
Requirements:
  • CPCS Car and Street Works Tickets:

    • Valid CPCS certification for operating construction plant machinery.
    • Street Works qualification for working on highways and roads.
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience in civils-based groundworks.
    • Familiarity with dumper/roller operations (CPCS or NPORS with CSCS logo).
  • Availability:

    • Full-time position, Monday to Friday (07:30 - 17:00).
    • Overtime may be available when required.
