Title: Learning Resources Facilitator / Library Assistant

Location: South Yorkshire

Pay: £12.83 - £13.50 per hour including holiday pay

Duration: Part-Time, Temporary until end of July

Reed - Further Education are seeking a Learning Resources Facilitator to deliver high quality student focused support to facilitate their learning. To enable students, teaching staff and others to access and fully utilise physical and online resources.

What’s the day-to-day responsibilities of a Learning Resources Facilitator?

  • Provide a customer focused service centred on inclusivity of all Learning Resource Centre users. 
  • Promote the services of the Learning Resources Centre through developing and delivering student engagement activities.
  • Promote and undertake inductions for students in groups and on a 1:1 basis including the preparation and delivery of workshops that support curriculum delivery and help students acquire skills for independent learning.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Learning Resources Centre services by performing routine administrative duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist students in the retrieval of information, the use of ICT and equipment, basic trouble-shooting and services available through the Learning Resource Centre.
  • Support students in developing skills, competence and confidence in digital skills, in particular, the use of Microsoft Teams and the Office 365 suite.
  • Promote and support the use of assistive technologies, ensuring students can access curriculum content through physical and online resources.
  • Support students’ wider learning by preparing and delivering activities that enrich and enhance the student experience.

What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?

  • Previous experience of working within an education setting or library.
  • Proven experience of working a frontline customer service role.
  • Experience of working with a range of information resources both online and physical
  • Previous experience of creating resources, doing inductions and creating activities for post 16 people (DESIRABLE)
  • GCSE English and Maths (at grade C) or equivalent
  • IT literate including knowledge of coding/programming. Also word processing, spreadsheets and databases i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Google platforms
