Job Description

There are many different investment roles at Legal and General, and at this early stage in your career we are keen that you get to experience a range of roles and responsibilities. That is why we will be running a cross-divisional programme allowing you exposure to both our Retirement Institutional (LGRI) business and our Legal and General Capital (LGC) business.

Whether you are working in LGRI to provide innovative investment solutions for new pension risk transfer deals or working in LGC to deploy capital in sectors where there is a lack of investment - no one day will ever be the same in this exciting and ever-changing business. Your responsibilities will not only be broad and diverse, but they will be impactful, socially useful and make a difference, giving you the chance to experience different roles first-hand via rotations across these two businesses.

What you'll be doing

Our Graduate Programme has been designed to give you the fundamental experience and skill set to excel at Legal and General. You'll join with a cohort of graduates and take part in our thoughtfully designed Legal & General Induction, providing you with insights about our business and helping you connect with your new peers to grow your professional network.

In this role, you will join us on a full-time permanent basis and receive on the job training and coaching from your line manager and team to help you expand on both your business acumen and investment skills. Alongside this you'll study for an industry recognised Professional Qualification. Combined, these will fully equip you to be successful in your role, with the knowledge and skills required to apply to real world business challenges

Over the course of the 2 years you will be given the chance to experience different rotations, giving you a broad range of experiences across different teams.

By the end of the programme you will have built a clear picture of where your interests and experience can take you within Legal & General, beyond the Graduate Scheme..

Qualifications

We are looking for people with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. We're not expecting prior industry experience, but we'll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:
  • 2.1 Degree in any subject - we are open to all subject backgrounds
  • Analytical skills, with a high level of numeracy
  • Great communication skills
  • Flexible and a team-player
  • Growth mindset
  • Digital and/or data skills would be a nice to have but not essential
  • An understanding of investment markets and their drivers or the desire to learn more about them
