Job Title: Level 3 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Hounslow, London

Employment Type: Full-time, Contract

Are you a dedicated and qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Join our inclusive school community in Hounslow, where we are committed to providing high-quality education and support for all students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a student with special educational needs, following their Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assist the student with academic tasks, including reading, writing, numeracy, and other learning activities, adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet their specific needs.
  • Support the student's social and emotional development, promoting positive behavior management strategies and fostering their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, class teacher, and other professionals to implement effective support strategies and interventions for the student, ensuring their progress and well-being are monitored and reviewed regularly.
  • Build positive relationships with the student, parents/carers, and other members of the school community, facilitating effective communication and partnership working.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a one-to-one support role with children with SEN.
  • Sound understanding of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to support the diverse needs of children with SEN in a classroom setting.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice in SEN support.
