Legal Services Business Manager at Waverley Borough Council

Remuneration: £37,039 - £39,794 per annum and generous benefits including Local Government Pension Scheme

Introduction:
This is an exciting time for Legal Services at Waverley. We’ve recently undergone a restructure and are now taking steps to appoint a number of key roles within this fast-paced team environment. These new roles will help shape the future of the team, as we seek to contribute to the delivery of our overall Council commitments for the Borough and its residents.

As Legal Services Business Manager, you will play a key role working with the Borough Solicitor to deliver a resilient, responsive efficient and effective Legal Service. You will act as the first point of contact for key stakeholders, including Officers, Elected Members and members of the public and support our fee earners to deliver a first class service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for Officers, councillors and members of the public who approach Legal Services, providing an excellent customer contact experience
  • Support the development of an overall Legal Services Strategy which includes our Annual Service plan
  • Provide comprehensive support to Legal Services encompassing performance management, compliance reporting and ensuring our internal processes are agile and respond to business needs.

About you:

To be successful in securing this position you will possess:

  • Previous knowledge and experience of legal practice management or of business management in a similar profession
  • The ability to confidently communicate with a range of stakeholders at all levels
  • The capability to manage priorities and demand placed on services, in a complex work environment
  • Knowledge and exposure to legal or professional practice case management systems and processes applicable to professional practice.
