Private Client Legal Secretary (Wills, Probate, LPA)

LOCATION : EAST SURREY

Role Overview:

The Private Client Legal Secretary will provide essential administrative support to fee-earners and legal advisors within the Private Client Department. The focus will be on Wills, Probate, and LPA matters. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audio Typing and Document Preparation:
    • Transcribe audio dictations related to Wills, Inheritance Tax Accounts, and LPAs.
    • Draft and prepare legal documents, including Wills and other probate-related paperwork.
  2. Client Communication:
    • Liaise with clients and third-party professionals via phone and email.
    • Handle client inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  3. General Administration:
    • Organize and manage diaries for fee-earners.
    • Assist with photocopying, printing, scanning, and courier coordination.
  4. Support for Legal Advisors:
    • Provide administrative assistance to legal advisors across multiple offices (if required due to holidays).
    • Collaborate with fee-earners, trainees, and paralegals on caseloads.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years solid experience working within a Private Client, Wills, and Probate team.
  • Working knowledge of Probate, Wills, and LPA processes.
  • Familiarity with legal software (e.g., Isokon probate software) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence in handling client interactions
