Legal Secretary

Location - Margate

Salary- £ Competitive DOE

Do you have experience working as a Legal Secretary or from a similar background, and are you interested in transitioning into family and childcare law?

Do you have fast and accurate typing skills, spelling, and strong written and verbal communication skills?

Our client is a renowned multiservice law firm committed to access to justice. Throughout their network of offices, they have built a reputation nationally for delivering exceptional results for their clients and are looking for a Legal Secretary to join the Family Law team. They are a multi-office, multi-service Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners firm recognised for excellence in a variety of legal fields.

As the Legal Secretary, you will

Type from digital dictation, or otherwise including copy-typing

Carry out electronic filing as may be required from time to time

Deal with telephone calls whether incoming or outgoing from clients, Counsel, experts and other third parties

Keep appointment diaries for any Fee Earner or any Senior Member of the team

Greet clients and others visiting the office as may be appropriate

Ensure compliance with all office procedures as laid down in the Practice Manual including any variations or amendments

Deal with CCMS legal aid matters/applications

Action any fee notes and/or matters pertaining to experts’ invoices

Any other such matters as required

Skills and Experience

Have some experience working as a legal secretary or similar with a pretence for experience in family & childcare law

Be able to demonstrate an interest in Family law

Have strong organisational skills

Have the ability to work under pressure

Fast and accurate typing skills and spelling

Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills.
