Kennedys is looking for a Legal Secretary to join our Cambridge office.  The role will include working on court documents, identifying key dates/deadlines, liaising with team to complete client returns and general office admin duties.

Team

Kennedys Healthcare division advise the NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and medical malpractice insurers of private hospitals, clinics and practitioners on EL/PL and clinical negligence claims. The team advise on medical insurance coverage, health law advice, and regulatory matters and represent clients at inquests and judicial reviews. The team have a presence across our London, Cambridge, Birmingham and some of our global offices.

Key responsibilities 

  • Manage and prioritise tasks according to urgency for fee earning team
  • Access and store copy reports, correspondence and documents produced by the Document Production Team
  • Seek to develop knowledge of the team practice area, learning how it operates and adhering to it
  • Take and record accurate messages and pass on to the appropriate person and without unnecessary delay
  • Attend to clients both on the telephone and in person in a professional manner.

Required experience 

  • Previous secretarial experience
  • Competent knowledge about legal practice
  • Proficient in word processing/office software
